Looking back on God’s impact in my life, it is incredible to see all the wonderful and amazing things He has done for me out of His endless grace. Just as most people might attest, I did not always have God in my life. I grew up in your typical suburban neighborhood with friends on the block and sports after school. I was raised, along with my two siblings, by a single mother.  We were all troublemakers yet the neighborhood saw me as the ideal kid and always welcomed me into their homes. Getting good grades, being social, and appearing fulfilled were my specialty.

With this ideal of the American kid engraved in peoples’ minds, it became quite a shock to me and my close peers when I started using drugs the summer of my senior year in high school. It’s difficult to say why I decided to join this lifestyle which I had always despised. I had seen firsthand the devastating effects it had on my family in the past, but yet still decided to jump in headfirst. Engulfed in the world and its ways, I soon found that the water was rising quickly around me and if I couldn’t come up with a plan of escape, it would be too late.

I didn’t know how I was exactly going to escape, but my two best options at the time were joining the military to get away or simply getting caught to get isolated. However, despite all the filth I had covered myself in, God had the ultimate plan of escape for me.

Through a miraculous series of events God decided to expose a very small portion of Himself to me in a incredible way. After this encounter, I had a much greater understanding of the power of God. However, I did not know about Jesus Christ. It took me a while to come to my senses and start reading the Bible, but when I did my eyes were truly opened. I was hungry and wanted more of this salvation Jesus Christ had to offer. I gave my life to Christ one service at a nearby church. A few weeks later I was asked by a close friend to check out Every Nation. After a few visits I was home. Every Nation challenged me and gave me opportunity to grow as a new creation. It is very safe to say that without God’s transforming power and the Every Nation relationships I formed, I would be nowhere close to where I am today. PRAISE GOD!!!!
